Al Frisby, a Central California Cajun Icon, born in Louisiana and then recycled in Santa Cruz, CA, got his start over 20 years ago writing comedy and social satire. In that 20 years, Al has learned over 20 different instruments, including but not limited to, the Turkish Saz & Musical Saws, the Louisiana Washboard, the Accordion, all types of guitars and a few self-handmade instruments. Al Frisby's 65+ song repertoire is uniquely different song by song, but mostly based in an African style 'call and response' format, so that the audience is practically hypnotized into singing along. Al Frisby is a one of a kind, "deliciously wacked superb comic" in his ability to engage and befriend an audience. This 2001 season, Al Frisby and his affectionate songs will celebrate, as well as, skewer the cultural ideal.
